"Love Me Tender" Original Upcycled Furniture Art

"Love Me Tender" is a wonderful vintage piece of upcycled furniture art! This piece is a fabulous tribute to a well-known, rock and roll, ground-breaker...you may be familiar with him. I used an early 1950's Philco Radio-Phonograph as my canvas. I mean, how could I not honor this guy with this piece??? It was a no-brainer!

I carefully sanded this piece down to reveal the beautiful red toned wood veneer, I let the warmth serve as the backdrop for my artwork. I used a deep walnut gel stain to hand-paint the famous rocker's silhouette on the table top of the piece. The top's edges were painted a fun gold and the top was then sealed. I hand-aged strips of sheet music featuring his most popular songs which I then decoupaged on the sides of the piece before using a bronze gel to add a great sheen. The speaker surround was painted pale gold to coordinate with the original gold speaker fabric. The MCM-style legs were painted a sleek black to finish the piece.

This piece would be an amazing addition to any MCM lovers home! Know a music lover? What a terrific gift!

Display this great table fully open or in it's more compact form with the sides down. Use it as a side table in your living room, sit it next to your bed as a night stand, welcome guests in your entryway, or display your most treasured vintage finds on it's large table top!

As a great bonus, this piece includes the original wiring and tubes. The piece did work when I first purchased it but as a precaution, I cut the cord to ensure safety, leaving the piece solely decorative. Someone wanting to restore function could probably do so, but it would have to be at their own risk as I do not recommend or endorse that.

The piece measures approx. 26"h x 26"d x 20"w (with sides down) OR 30"w (with sides up). The piece was sealed in a matte finish poly for easy care using the included, dry, microfiber cloth. As with all of my original artwork, this piece is artist signed.

As with any large furniture purchase an experienced, insured shipper must be used. Shipping times can vary depending on the shipper's current planned routes. Therefore shipping times can take upwards of 4-8 weeks. The customer is always notified of shipping updates and delivery schedule.
