"Lily" Upcycled Original Functional Furniture Art

"Lily" is an environmentally friendly upcycled piece of original functional furniture art. She was inspired not only by the art on the cover of the novel "It Ends With Us" but also by the heart wrenching story. I loved the colors and subject matter used on the cover but the rawness of the story contained within really drove my own artistic interpretation. I used actual pages torn directly from the novel to create each of the lily petals...yes, I destroyed a book. As an avid reader and book lover, it was an inner struggle to do so, BUT as an artist it was an absolutely necessary step to stay true to my original artwork, the story, and my inspiration. I then cut each petal shape and hand-applied them to the top and "falling down" the face of the dresser. I then carefully hand-painted the details all while allowing the wording to show through.

The beautiful MCM dresser was painted a vertical gradated cream to peach to pale pink which is a nice compliment to the eggplant and deep purples used in the lily petals. There is a special little nod to my fellow "Cohorts" on the left bottom side with the painted heart from the novel. Each of the 5 drawers were lined in a fun fabric and brushed gold toned drawer pulls were installed to finish the piece.

This piece would be the perfect piece for any "Cohort", book lover, flower lover, art lover, or anyone who loves unique pieces. Use it in a bedroom, living-room, office, or anywhere you need to add some interest or personality.

This is truly a one-of-a-kind-piece and a work of art. As with all of my pieces it is artist signed and dated.
